CORONAVIRUS

Operational Site Visiting Personnel

Due to the ongoing threat of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have formalised the following procedures to safeguard our employees, customers and supply chain so that we may continue to offer our planned preventative maintenance, remedial works and emergency call outs.

General

As a business Mitchell’s have to visit client premises and sites to facilitate repairs and maintenance to Airconditioning systems, Refrigeration systems, Heating systems, electrical systems and all other services associated with HVAC systems. Due to the nature of the work we need to be able to attend sites as the work cannot be done remotely or without physical attendance

We have advised our people that they must abide by the rules set out by each client and not knowingly place anybody at any additional risk.

Any site rules will take precedence over our policy and procedures and we would welcome advice of yourarrangements / requirements for our engineer’s arrival.

We would like to reassure all of our customers that Mitchell’s are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and continuing to follow the guidance and dictates of the relevant authorities at all times to ensure the safety of our staff, customers and members of the public.

Personal Hygiene

We have requested our staff to significantly upgrade their personal hygiene. Hand washing guides have been issued and they have been instructed to use the hand wash facilities on site before and after working on tasks on site.

The engineers have been advised to minimise physical contact with people on site and exercise social distancing by maintaining a reasonable distance from people that they visit.

They have also been discouraged from sharing food, utensils and drinks.

They have been advised of the PHE recommendations to prevent the spread of the disease as follows:

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze.
  • Put used tissues in the bin straight away!
  • Wash your hands with soap and water often – use hand sanitizer gel if soap and water aren’t available.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell
  •  Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth if your hands are not clean

Within the office environment our staff have been split up amongst multiple offices and arranged so they are segregated and are seated >2mts apart. Those that are able to work from home are being encouraged to do so. Additional cleaning has been implemented to include the cleaning and dis-infection of all door handles, push plates, entry key-pads, light switches, and communal areas with appropriate cleaning agents.

Travel requirements

With the recent FCO recommendations all travel outside the UK has been discouraged.

All operational staff need to complete movement records in relation to any foreign travel. Foreign travel should be kept to a minimum and we have now requested that all staff taking holiday inform us of their intended destination.

All destinations are monitored on the Government websites so we can update the information given to the individual prior to, during and following their visit.

All individuals are required to monitor their health during their holiday period and more importantly on their return. It is more than possible that the arrangements required on their return are different to those that they left in, so we will continue to monitor and advise our people whilst they are away if required.

Health advice must be followed on arrival back in the UK. We have advised our people how to access this information and have sent them a Coronavirus Statement advising them of how to update information at all times.

Engineers will not be dispatched to any site unless they have completed the necessary health checks that are advised in relation to their destination once back in the UK.

Health Monitoring

All staff have been told to monitor their own health and well-being and not to report to work if they are displaying any of the symptoms of Coronavirus.

Our current operational status is ‘business as usual’ but we are prepared for further escalation of the situation in the UK should this occur. We will continue to communicate with our staff, customers and supply chain and update this overview document regularly in line with the current situation.
